Arizona Fall League returns to Tucson
with Oct. 11 Tripleheader at Kino Stadium

PIMA COUNTY, Aug. 14, 2025 – Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium will be the home of a tripleheader of the Arizona Fall League on Oct. 11.

The league’s six Phoenix-area teams will travel to Tucson for games that will begin at 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.

The Arizona Fall League

features seven top prospects from every Major League Baseball team. Forty-one percent of all players named to the 2025 MLB All-Star Game were AFL alums, according to the league. Notable recent alumni include Ronald Acuña Jr., Bryce Harper, and Mike Trout.

The Tucson Javelinas

This marks the first AFL visit to Tucson in decades. The Tucson Javelinas were an original AFL team, playing in the 1992 and 1993 seasons, before relocating to the Phoenix area. The AFL returned for one game in 1994, when nearly 8,000 packed Hi Corbett Field to see basketball superstar Michael Jordan suit up for the Scottsdale Scorpions during his stint in the Chicago White Sox minor league system.

The Oct. 11 triple-doubleheader marks a resurgence of baseball events at Kino Stadium in 2025:

Our strength lies in our individuality. Set up by Esther Bryce, the team strives to bring in the best talent in various fields, from architecture to interior design and sales.

  • March — Kino hosted the World Baseball Classic 2025 Qualifiers, featuring teams from China, Germany, Brazil and Colombia.

  • June — The Mayos de Navojoa from Sonora, Mexico, announced their relocation to Tucson, becoming the first Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico franchise to be based in the United States. Competing this winter as the Tucson Baseball Team, the team will play its first home game at Kino on Oct. 16.

  • Oct. 2-5 — The annual Mexican Baseball Fiesta returns, featuring the Tucson Baseball Team, the University of Arizona and five other teams.

“Welcoming the Arizona Fall League builds on the incredible momentum we’ve created — first by hosting the World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, and now as the new home of the Tucson Baseball Team,” said Sarah Horvath, director of the Kino Sports Complex and Stadium District. “Kino Sports Complex and Pima County are once again firmly on the map as a premier destination for top-tier baseball.”
