For the first time in 10 years, the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) will hold a Majors event in Arizona featuring six open wheel, sports car, and sports prototype groups running races on both Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3.

The U.S. Majors Tour is considered the pinnacle of championship road racing in North America. Events take place at 30 different tracks in six geographic regions throughout the season, scheduled to avoid conflicts and attract greater participation.

This will be the first Majors event at the Podium Club circuit which opened in 2021 and was approved for racing and SCCA competition licensing in 2023.  The 2.32-mile, configurable, bidirectional track was designed to meet exacting FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) safety standards at buildout, and has already become a favorite test venue for IMSA teams, professional motorcycle racers, and supercar manufacturers.

Races will be run in the clockwise direction, with Saturday races 20 minutes in length and Sunday races 40 minutes or 25 laps. A majority of the drivers who will race in the Arizona Snowbird Majors have never been to the Podium Club before, so Friday, March 1 will be a practice day.

To register for the practice day, drivers can click here for either a half day or full day.  Registration for participation in the SCCA Arizona Snowbird Majors event ends March 1; click here to sign up if you have a valid SCCA competition license.

Spectator admission is free for all three days, food and refreshments will be available on race days, and bringing your own lawn chairs is recommended. Gates open at 8:00 a.m., see below for groups and tentative daily schedules.
